YouTube has launched a new programme that will help advertisers target audience watching its streaming content on YouTube TV or TV screens. The programme YouTube Select will now allow marketers to buy ads that will specifically target the said audience.

The programme will be beneficial to advertisers since viewers are known to consume more content on TV screens rather than on smartphones or laptops. These audiences are therefore particularly more valuable to advertisers.

YouTube Select will replace another programme Google Preferred, which sold ads on the top 5% of the most popular and entertaining channels. The programme, advertisers can buy ads that will appear on certain leading YouTube channels in categories like entertainment, sports or lifestyle.
