Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar recently announced the launch of its Ratlam and Shimla editions. With the launch of these two editions, Dainik Bhaskar aims to further consolidate its reach in Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The Ratlam edition is priced at Rs 3 and is targeting a circulation of 40,000 copies, while the Shimla edition is priced at Rs 2 and is targeting a circulation of 35,000 copies.

The Ratlam edition will cover all the local news and events in and around the cities of Ratlam, Neemuch and Mandsaur, which were earlier served by the Ujjain edition of Dainik Bhaskar. The edition is being printed at a new printing unit situated at Sailana with the facility to print all 16 pages colour.

Rajiv Jaitly, President, Sales and Marketing, Dainik Bhaskar Corp Ltd, said, “There has been a substantial growth in the non-metro urban markets, as the marketers’ focus is shifting from metro city base towards the non-metros. Bhaskar Group has identified this trend long back, which has created tremendous opportunities in the Tier II and Tier III cities, where there are rising affluence levels, improved infrastructure and spread of retail along with the changing consumer patterns. By further penetrating into the non-metro urban markets, Bhaskar Group aims to better access of its business associates to real markets of emerging India.”

The Shimla edition will cover Shimla and surrounding district of Solan and Sirmour for extensive local news coverage. Printed at Sirhind, this 16-page newspaper with 14 pages in colour is expected to soon cross the 35,000-copies mark.

Truly dedicated, the new editions will have distinct identities and editorial approaches, and in addition to the international, national and regional news, will offer a perfect blend of city news on varied topics ranging from local developments, tourism, politics, economy and sports, among others.

With the launch of Ratlam and Shimla editions, Dainik Bhaskar now has 26 editions across eight states.
