94.3 MY FM’s RJ Meenakshi recently won 'The Sound of India' contest at the Third International Radio Festival leading to her representing the country in Zurich earlier this year. The competition saw around 100 entries from RJs and producers from more than 70 public and private radio stations all over India.

Meenakshi, who returned this week from Zurich, said, “We had participants from over 80 countries representing their style of Radio, ‘RJ’ying or as they called ‘DJ’ying. I had a great experience talking to RJ’s from different countries and sharing views with them. People at the IRF loved my style and the energy and the rich content of the show. The show was relayed live back in India and 80 other places around the world. Overall my experience at IRF Radiofest Zurich was extremely enriching and it was a proud moment for me to represent my country at a global event.”

Meenakshi hosts the morning show ‘Salaam Chandigarh’ on MY FM. She credits the win to the content of the show. “My show is completely different from others. We have everything, from music to news, national, international, sports and Bollywood updates with funny entertaining takes and trivia. We also have a radio editorial, where we have a senior city journalist analyzing the news of the day.”

Speaking about the importance of content, MY FM CEO, Harrish Bhatia said, “We have invested heavily on developing unique and proprietary content that has the edge of utilitarian knowledge. Customer centricity has been the core for 94.3 MY FM. Right from picking up the content cues from the changing tastes in music, talk and style of presentation, we today can boast an evolving content mechanism.”
