Neo Cricket on October 27, 2009 announced the closure of three deals with international operators – Qatar Cable Vision (Q-Tel), Pacific Broadcasting Services, Destiny Cable Inc in the Middle East, Fiji and the Philippines, respectively – in an endeavour to expand the channel’s footprint in the international market.
In the Middle East, Neo Cricket jointly with Arab Digital Distribution, the channel’s platform partner, have signed the deal with Q-Tel, the only government-owned cable network in Qatar. Through this partnership, Neo Cricket aims to reach out to the additional subscriber base in Qatar.
While Neo Cricket’s alliance with Pacific Broadcasting Services will mark the channel’s foray into the Hindi and English speaking households and commercial outlets in Fiji, its tie-up with Destiny Cable Inc will provide a platform to cater to the South Asian expats in the Philippines’ non-stop cricketing action.
Vikram Das, Senior VP - International Distribution, Neo Sports Broadcast Pvt Ltd, said, “These three deals with the leading international operators reaffirm Neo Cricket’s commitment of taking cricket to as many fans across the globe. We have built strong brand equity with the Indian consumers by bringing to them the best cricketing action. Now we extend the same to cricket fans in the Middle East and across Fiji and the Philippines.”
Starting with the India-Australia ODI series, the subscribers of Q-Tel, Pacific Broadcasting Services and Destiny Cable Inc can watch and enjoy back-to-back Live and exclusive cricket lined up on the channel.
