20 crore watched IPL opening match on TV+Digital: BCCI Secretary

The match was played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on September 19

An unprecedented 20 crore people tuned in to watch the opening IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on September 19.

The number has been tweeted by Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Shah has quoted BARC as the source.

This, according to Shah, is the highest ever opening day viewership for any sporting league in any country.
