Coca-Cola India has plans to take Georgia, the hot beverage, to 23 cities across India, in a span of three to four years, said Sanjeev Gupta, CEO on the sidelines of the concluding day of the CII meet on Friday.

He said, “Tea and coffee has huge opportunity in India and it is a 13 billion market for us. Therefore anybody who has to be big in India has to operate in this sector. We have a lot of strength in out-of-home space.”

“We are doing well in Delhi, we opened last in Kolkatta and now extended it to four other metros. We will soon be moving to 23 other cities with world-class machines and world class quality,” Gupta said. Asked if the company is targeting the B towns, he said, “Yes that is what we intend to do.”

Gupta at the summit showed how business models developed in the Indian market by Coca Cola India were being successfully replicated globally. The experience of nurturing a local brand (Thums Up), small bottle at a particular price, cluster advertising and the experience of marketing tea and coffee were developed in India and applied globally by Coca Cola.
