Disney renames 20th Century Fox
After the rebranding, the brand will be known as 20th Television instead
Disney has rebranded one of its biggest properties 20th Century Fox as 20th Television. Disney had announced on Monday that the studio may undergo a rebranding with the terms "Century" and "Fox" dropped from the name. The move is a part of a larger rebrand by Disney's TV studios.
The development follows Disney dropping "Fox" from the original name in January. The asset had been renamed to 20th Century Studios. With the rebranding, the words 20th Television will appear prior to the opening credits sans the words "Century" and "Fox."
Reports say that the objective behind the rebranding is to avoid confusion between other Disney-owned properties, which includes Fox Sports, Fox Business and Fox News.
The new logos and motion end cards are expected to be done by the end of the year.
