Inspire Youngsters, Acknowledge Seniors: Dainik Jagran’s coffee table books
Jagran Prakashan Ltd or the Dainik Jagran Group has released a coffee table book – ‘Jagran Gems’ at an event in Delhi on October 26, 2009. Jagran Gems honours entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking on the occasion, the Group’s CMD, Mahendra Mohan Gupta, said that this was one of the first books from the Group, and that similar attempts would be seen for different states that have the Jagran footprint.

Jagran Prakashan Ltd or the Dainik Jagran Group is looking at talking to various groups and communities through ‘coffee table books’. The thought is simple and the first community to be addressed under this initiative is the small and medium entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh through ‘Jagran Gems’. The book was released at an event in Delhi on October 26, 2009. Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, was the Chief Guest at the event.
Jagran Prakashan is passionate about this idea, and this was obvious through the evening, especially with the Group’s Chairman and MD, Mahendra Mohan Gupta, speaking on what this endeavour meant for the Group. In a conversation with exchange4media, he said, “For us, this is an important step as it gets us closer to various sections of our readers across the markets where Jagran is present. So, while we have begun with Uttar Pradesh, we would be doing this across all states that have the Jagran footprint.”
He also divulged that the intention was to also do more on these lines for various sections of the industry, such as jewellers and so on. He explained, “We have been able to acknowledge the contribution of many to their states, but we wanted to be able to honour more such success stories. So, you would see different ways in which we would package this.”
Outlining the broad thought, he said, “We want to acknowledge and honour the senior people who, by way of their work and their businesses, have contributed to the growth of their state, and in the same breath, we want to inspire the youngsters to do more.”
