‘Me’ magazine, a subsidiary of DNA (Daily News and Analysis), has been shut down. ‘Me’ was a monthly magazine for women covering topics like lifestyle, trends and so on. The magazine’s editorial team too has been asked to move on.

Giving the reason behind the decision to shut down ‘Me’, a DNA spokesperson, said, “DNA wanted to get out of the magazine business. The core business for the DNA group is news. We already have five editions in place and wanted to consolidate those. Hence, we decided to put our whole time and energy on our news business. We have observed that the magazine business as a whole has been dropping in India, so we decided to concentrate only on the DNA newspaper for the time being.”

Speaking to exchange4media, Sathya Saran, the Editor of ‘Me’, said, “Working with DNA’s ‘Me’ was a good transition and a great learning experience for me. I have spent five wonderful years here with the magazine, but I think it’s time to move on now towards bigger and more exciting ventures.”

Saran, however, refused to disclose more on the ‘exciting ventures’ that she was talking about, saying it would be ‘premature’ to talk about them. She has earlier been the Editor of women’s magazine ‘Femina’.
