Manipal University and Radio One Ltd have come together to provide their expertise to potential students of management, focusing in the field of Media Management. Radio One will be an academic partner with Manipal University and will provide academic training, infrastructure and networking links with the industry to fulfill the educational needs of the students enrolled. Students pursuing an MBA in Media & Entertainment be provided with an option of pursuing their 4th Semester of the programme with specialisation in Radio Broadcasting and Management with Radio One at their stations in seven cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.
Speaking on the tie-up, Dr Vinod Bhat, Chief Academic Officer & Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University, said, “We are delighted to sign the MoA with Radio One. The two-year MBA programme in Media & Entertainment (four semesters, full time) offered by Manipal University comes with a specialisation in Radio or Film in the 4th semester. The first three semesters of the MBA programme will be conducted in Manipal University’s Bangalore campus. The final and 4th semester of the programme will be conducted at various industry organisations.
Students of Radio could choose to train at Radio One campus across India and would also be exposed to live projects and acquire practical assistance. This will include actual production and post-productions techniques, understanding radio broadcast and other sectors of media and entertainment.
Manipal University, a part of the Manipal Education Group, was the first institute to be recognised as a Deemed University by the Government of India in 1993. The University has 20 constituent colleges that offer over 195 courses across 14 streams.
