BARC Week 23- South: Mazhavil Manorama surpasses Surya TV in Malayalam GEC category
Mazhavil Manorama which was at the fourth position in Week 22 climbed two positions up, bagging the second spot in Malayalam GEC category. Zee Telugu came in the first spot outdoing Star Maa in week 23.
Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India released the ratings for week 23 for South India GECs. Here are some highlights:
Kannada
There is no change in the rankings in Kannada GEC group compared to Week 22. Colors Kannada like the past weeks has retained the first spot with 385482 impressions (000s) followed by Zee Kannada with 289528 impressions (000s). Udaya TV came third with 204116 impressions (000s) followed by Udaya Movies with 190019 impressions, and Star Suvarna with 163923 impressions.
Malayalam
In the Malayalam GEC category like in the past weeks Asianet bagged the first spot with 343385 impressions (000s). Mazhavil Manorama, which was in the fourth position, climbed two positions up clinching the second spot with 111446 impressions (000s). Surya TV which retained second position throughout the past weeks came third in the week 23 with 92878 impressions (000s). Flowers which was in the third position slipped to fourth with 90798 impressions (000s) followed by Asianet Movies with 68973 impressions.
Asianet reserved its dominance in the program category with its prime time serials bagging all five spots.
Tamil
The market leader of Tamil GEC, SUN TV came first with 750247 impressions (000s) followed by Zee Tamil with 409014 impressions (000s). Star Vijay came third with 393799 impressions followed by KTV with 260294 impressions. Polimer took the 5th spot in Week 23 with 64099 impressions (000s).
Telugu
Zee Telugu surpassed Star Maa in week 23 with 491684 impressions (000s) bagging the first spot. Star Maa with impressions of 476420 came second followed by ETV Telugu with 411272 impressions (000s). Gemini TV came fourth with 345714 impressions followed by Gemini Movies with 173253 impressions (000s).
