Amid a host of controversies around the TRP manipulation case, BARC India is assiting the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to understand the allegations made against them. Officials from the management team of BARC is helping ED with necesssaary assitance to unravel the case.
It all started in October 2020, when Mumbai police unearthed a TRP maniplaution scheme accusing a national news channel alongside two other regional channels of tampering with BARC viewership data. In the last three months a lot of development happened around the case naming top former employees of BARC and senior management officials of certain news channels as prime accused in the TRP manipulation case.
Recently in a supplementary chargesheet the Mumbai police also claimed to have explicit proof against the accused in the case.
