India-New Zealand T20 matches were most watched in Hindi GEC and sports genre

The telecast of T20 and ODI matches between India and New Zealand on DD National and Star Sports 1 Hindi gained maximum viewership in Hindi GEC and sports genre

Going by the latest viewership data, cricket continues to rule Indian households with the latest India-New Zealand series fetching big numbers. The telecast of T20 and the ODI matches between India and New Zealand on DD National were most watched in the Top 5 programs in Hindi GEC genre garnering 15.5 million and 10.7 million impressions respectively, according to BARC data for Week 44 (October 28-November 3).

In fact, the same matches (T20 and ODI) took the first and second spot in the rural market Top 5 Programs with 12.2 and 8.2 million impressions respectively. Interestingly, the T20 match telecasted on Star Sports 1 Hindi was the most watched, garnering 17.5 million impressions while the same on Star Sports 1 was the third-most watched in sports genre with 10 million impressions. 

Meanwhile the third ODI on Star Sports 1 Hindi and Sports 1 took the second and fifth spot with 12.4 million and 6.9 million impressions, respectively.

The India-New Zealand series has started getting traction from the previous week onwards when the first match on DD National took the third spot in the Hindi GEC’s Top 5 Programs with 8.4 million impressions.
