IPL to start on Sept 19; final to be played on Nov 8: Reports

The eagrly-waited Indian Premier League (IPL) will start on September 19, according to media reports. The final match will be played on November 8. The IPL Governing Council has already announced that the league will be held in United Arab Emirates this year.
The reports suggest that the Council will meet next week to finalise the schedule.
The league will be a "51-day window which will suit the franchises as well as the broadcasters and other stakeholders," reports quoted a BCCI source as saying.
It is being said that the tournament was to start on September 26, but BCCI advanced the dates because of Indian team' Autralia tour.Star India holds the brodcast rights of IPL. It bought the rights from BCCI for Rs 16, 347.5 crore for five years.
