Sun TV enters Hindi GEC space, buys slot on DD FreeDish
Another channel, Dhamaal has also secured a slot for Rs 20.85 crore

The recent DD FreeDish auction for the MPEG-2 slot has witnessed two new entrants in the Hindi GEC category.
Sun TV bought the slot in bucket A+, which comprises Hindi GECs, for the channel at Rs 21 crore.
Another channel, Dhamaal has also secured a slot for Rs 20.85 crore.
The reserve price for General Entertainment Channels (GEC) - Hindi or Urdu - in Bucket A+ was fixed at Rs 15 crore. The pubcaster has earned Rs 213 crore from the Bucket A+.
The DD FreeDish auction began on February 19, 2024. The slots are being allotted for one year, starting April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
