Sunil Lulla, CEO of BARC India speaks about his friend and well-wisher, Uday Shankar.

“Uday Shankar has played one of the most significant roles in shaping television in the last two decades. One of the leading drivers to help create BARC and see it evolve with success. An astute content and business mind. He is a friend and a big well-wisher. Like at Aaj Tak, Star News and at STAR I am sure he will go on to create new magic and big success for himself. I wish Uday all the happiness and success," he says.

Before he took over the reins of The Walt Disney Company (APAC), Shankar was the president of 21st Century Fox for Asia and the Chairman & CEO of Star India. In 2007, helmed Star India and transformed it into one of the most successful media companies in Asia. His contributions have revolutionised Indian media landscape.

Shankar will remain with Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer & International Segment through the end of 2020 and will work closely with Rebecca Campbell, Chairman of Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer & International segment, to identify his successor.
