The Maharashtra government is set to roll out a policy regarding hoardings in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), state Minister Uday Samant informed the legislative assembly on Monday.

Samant said this during a discussion about the hoardings across the city that have been erected by violating rules. This comes in the wake of the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse incident in which 17 people lost their lives last month.

"A policy will be unveiled once the code of conduct for the legislative council polls ends after the results are declared for the graduates and teachers constituencies," the minister stated.

Giving details about the investigations in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse incident, Samant said that the committee headed by former Allahabad High Court chief justice Dilip Bhosle is probing the mishap.
