Anup Govindan, EVP & Head of Ad Revenue at Star Sports, has called it quits after a nine-year stint, sources have told e4m.
Govindan handled ad sales for multiple national and international sporting properties, including ICC, IPL, Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Bundesliga, Indian Super League, Wimbledon, Australian Open, and Pro Kabaddi League among others.
Govindan had taken over as head of ad revenue at Star Sports following Anil Jayaraj's exit in July last year. He joined Star Sports in July 2013 as SVP & National Advertising Sales Head.
Prior to Star Sports, he was Senior Director of Advertising Sales at ESPN Star Sports (ESS), the erstwhile JV between Walt Disney and 21st Century Fox.
Apart from Star Sports and ESS, he also had stints at Sony and UTV as Group Manager and Manager Advertising Sales respectively.
