Sahil Shetty to move on from his role as CRO, Business News Cluster, News18 Studio

Shetty has been among the key commercial leaders in Network18’s digital and studio ecosystem over the past several years

Sahil Shetty has resigned from his role as the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Business News Cluster, News18 Studio at Network18 Media & Investments Limited, sources familiar with the development have confirmed.

However, when e4m wrote to Sahil Shetty he categorically dismissed this suggestion in a written mail and said he was very much here. But e4m has learnt that Sahil Shetty is on notice period and will move out in next few weeks.

Shetty has been among the key commercial leaders in Network18’s digital and studio ecosystem over the past several years, with a strong focus on revenue strategy, branded content growth and digital monetisation across business news assets.

He was elevated to the CRO role in June 2024, taking charge of revenue leadership for News18 Studio’s business news cluster, at a time when media organisations across the industry were doubling down on studio-led branded content, high-impact partnerships and content commerce integrations.

Shetty’s exit is significant, given the pivotal role News18 Studio’s business news cluster plays in the Network18 ecosystem, particularly in shaping revenue strategy across premium business content, high-value advertiser partnerships and large-format brand solutions.

Before taking on the CRO mantle, Shetty served as National Head, Digital Revenue & Strategy (June 2022 to July 2024) and earlier as National Head, Digital Revenue (March 2020 to March 2022). He also handled key regional responsibilities within the group as West & South Head, Digital (February 2019 to March 2020). Over the years, he has been closely associated with driving Network18’s digital monetisation engine through evolving ad models, performance-oriented revenue strategy, and integrated sales structures.

Prior to his Network18 tenure, Shetty worked with Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. (Times Group), where he managed IP-led revenue in multiple regions including North & East, and West & South. Earlier in his career, he also held roles across the UK market with organisations such as Barclays UK Retail & Business Bank, Vodafone UK and Accenture UK, building experience across operations, process management, and strategic delivery.

While Shetty has denied the development when contacted, multiple sources close to the matter indicate that the move is in place and that he is expected to transition out of the role.

Last week e4m had reported a story of Avinash Kaul s moving on from Network 18.

Sahil Shetty had resigned before Avinash Kaul and this development is not related to Avinash Kaul’s moving on.

Sahil Shetty's next destination is not yet known.

Mitul Sangani had also resigned and was moving on from network 18 but post Avinash Kaul resigning was retained by Network 18 top management with a promise of a better future.

Senior leaders resign and are sometimes retained.

However, in the case of Sahil Shetty it is unlikely that he will stay back.
