Shooting of commerials is understood to have resumed, sources have shared with exchange4media. To curb the spread of coronavirus, the Association of Advertising Producers (ASAP) and other industry bodies such as FWICE, IMPAA, WIPFA, IFTPC & IFTDA had unanimously decided to cancel all shoots from March 19. The body recently put together post-lockdown filming guidelines for commercial film production in India.
The extensive guidelines include general practices such as encouraging a work-from-home strategy, where possible, for freelancers and production staff, screening of all personnel entering the workplace for symptoms of COVID-19 and social distancing measures. Moreover, the guidelines specify that 6-feet distance should be maintained between colleagues, and masks should be used at all times along with preferably gloves.
The guidelines advise that all work environments must have hand sanitisers and handwashing facilities with soap while offices are encouraged to install sensor-based sanitisers to ensure hands-free dispensing. Also, manually operated dispensers must also be kept handy at all times. Furthermore, it suggests that workplaces should have COVID -19 risk assessments and plans in place, leave of absence must be insisted if anyone has symptoms of illness even if it is regular influenza or cough and safe transport of all employees, freelance or otherwise, must be provided.
