Christopher Ottinger has been appointed as Executive Vice-President, International Television Distribution, MGM Worldwide. Ottinger, a 14-year veteran of the global television industry, will be based at MGM's headquarters in Los Angeles and report to MGM Worldwide TV Co-President Gary Marenzi. He will have direct oversight of MGM's pay television licensing and business development activities outside of the US and Canada. He will also work closely with Marenzi on overall international TV sales planning as well as collaborating on acquisitions and programming initiatives.

TDSAT has ordered a stay on the ban imposed by the I&B Ministry on Red FM, whereby the radio station will continue to be aired at least till the next hearing on November 13, 2007. The TDSAT will have to rely on the Indian Penal Code to determine whether the remarks on ‘Indian Idol’ winner Prashant Tamang made by an RJ of Red FM were derogatory or not, since there are no existing guidelines.

TAM Media Research has announced that its listenership survey Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) will go live from October this year. We want to ensure that we are well-distributed and our brand resonates exactly the way we want it to, so our first areas of focus would be distribution and brand-building exercises. When a show takes off, you start analysing your programming strategies better. If that is taking time, you should let it take time in the beginning, and not fiddle around because your viewers should get used to your brands, and you must give them that much time. After four to five months, you will start seeing us working on FPC and programming like crazy again. By that time, we would know better what our viewers want. Until then, we have done our homework, and we know the results will come.
