Anil Kakar, Senior Creative Director, Percept/H, is now Executive Creative Director and will report to Ajay Chandwani, Executive Director and board member, Percept Limited, as well as Prabhakar Mundkur, CEO, Percept/H. Kakar started his career 15 years ago with Leo Burnett. He moved to Bates David Enterprise (earlier Enterprise Nexus), and later to Publicis Ambience, before joining Percept. He has been with Percept/H since August 2005. At Percept/H, he leads the creative team, and has worked on various campaigns for brands such as FedEx, Canon, Electrolux, Pantaloons, Yardley, Siyarams, Economic Times and Times Ascent.

Aditya Birla Group companies divided on move to a consolidated media AoR

The Aditya Birla Group’s corporate management has decided to do away with the multi-agency system, and move towards a consolidated media agency of record. A three-staged pitch process was called for this, but it got reduced to a single round of credential presentations, and the decision is in the favour of MindShare India. Idea Cellular is not a part of this pitch process. There is also no clarity yet whether Madura Garments and UltraTech would align with the single media AoR proposition.

Trent takes franchisee route for expansion

Delay in opening of malls, closure of retail complexes and surging property rentals among others have made Tata group's retail company Trent to opt for franchisee route to open its Westside chain of department stores in tier II and III cities. Under the franchisee deal, Trent will own and provide stock to the franchisees who will run day to day business of the stores.
