Prakash Iyer has joined Pyramid Saimira as Head, Finance & Business Development, while Naveen H has been brought in as General Manager, Games Arcades & Retail Business. Iyer, who will be based in New York, will take care of business verticals in the group as well as all international business development. Naveen will be based in Bangalore and oversee the complete operation of Pyramid Saimira’s Games Arcade. He was previously President of VXL Services Inc., New Jersey. Naveen moves from Sify, where he was Business Head for Online Games.

Sridhar Ranganathan has joined mKhoj as Head of Products. Ranganathan brings in several years of experience in high technology product management, both in the Internet space and enterprise space. He will be responsible for formulating and executing the product strategy for mKhoj. He moves has joined mKhoj after nearly four years with Yahoo! India, where he was Business Head for Yahoo! Local and Maps, and has been responsible for launching and growing both these key consumer products in the Indian market.

Aniket Gadgil has been elevated to VP-Corporate, at Daily Deshonnati, a daily published from Vidarbha, Marathwada and Khandesh. He was earlier GM-Corporate with the group. Prior to Daily Deshonnati, Gadgil had an association with publishing houses like Jagran, EPML, Saamana. He has spent almost 12 years in the print space.

Publicis Ambience has appointed Kartik Smetacek as Senior Creative Director and Nikhil Panjwani as Associate Creative Director. Smetacek joins Publicis Ambience after a year-long stint with Contract. Prior to that, he was with Rediffusion DY&R for almost seven years. Panjwani had earlier worked with Leo Burnett and Ideas@work. His last stint was with Young & Rubicam, Kuala Lumpur, as Creative Group Head. At Publicis Ambience, Smetacek will work on brands such as Lakmé, Westside, Akruti Builders and Capgemini, while Panjwani will handle Marico, Kinetic and D2H+, and Videocon’s DTH service businesses.

With this, Sulekha.com will establish its city-specific search services in 28 cities in India. Going further, Sulekha.com plans to expand to 15 more cities in the next four months.

Jindal Stainless Ltd has been awarded the 10-year contract for the second phase tender of the Bus-Q-Shelters by the Delhi Transport Corporation. The second BOT project includes building 400 Bus-Q-Shelters in all parts of Delhi, except the NDMC area. The project will assure DTC revenues upwards of Rs 4.5 crore per month from outdoor advertising.

Industry sources have pegged the account size well upwards Rs 10 crore. Meanwhile, Rediffusion DYR continues to handle the creative duties of the mother brand ‘Tata Sky’. Maxus is the media agency for the new product as well.

The original ‘K-serials’ have been slowly withering away. With ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’ slated to be taken off air soon, it is just ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ that is left from that ‘K’ block. To top it, ‘Kyunki...’ is no longer the number one or two or three serial on television right now. The demise of the K-serials has made way for Mythologies, Realities and the B-serials.
