Varghese Chandy, Senior General Manager, Marketing Operations, and Tomson J Thundathil, Manager - Market Research of Malayala Manorama have won the award for the best research paper titled ‘Reading India Right’ at the 14th Worldwide Readership Research Symposium (WRRS) held at Hotel Las Arenas, Valancia, Spain from October 10-14, 2009. Fifty-four papers were shortlisted from across the world after a rigorous process. ‘Reading India Right’ was the only paper that got selected from Asia.

ApnaCircle-Viadeo acquires social networking company Unyk

The recently merged combined entity, ApnaCircle-Viadeo, has announced the acquisition of Unyk, a Canadian social networking site. This acquisition includes Unyk’s membership of 16 million users, which is growing at a rate of 600,000 new members each month. Unyk members will now become ApnaCircle-Viadeo members, bringing the global network to over 25 million users and increasing the growth rate of over one million users per month.
