MPG retains the media biz for Reckitt Benckiser?blur=25

MPG India has retained the media business for Reckitt Benckiser. Reckitt Benckiser is the owner of brands Vanish, Veet, Clearasil and Dettol. MPG will be doing media planning and buying for Reckitt Benckiser. The account size is Rs 200 crore. MPG has been handling the business in India past since four years since 2004.

The Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2009 R2 data has thrown rather interesting numbers for Chennai in terms of Average Issue Readership (AIR). Barring The Times of India, all nine of the Top 10 publications in the Chennai MC market have witnessed decline in Average Issue Readership (AIR), while in Chennai Rest of UA, seven of the Top 10 publications have witnessed a decline.

While most publications are seeing a decline in their Average Issue Readership (AIR) in the major markets, Kolkata emerged as a unique market with most of its publications registering growths. In the Kolkata MC market, nine out of 10 publications have shown growth, while in Kolkata (Rest of UA) eight of the 10 publications have shown growth.
