IRS 2009 R2: Daily Thanthi, Dinakaran lead in Chennai, but top readership sees significant decline

The Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2009 R2 data has thrown rather interesting numbers for Chennai in terms of Average Issue Readership (AIR). Barring The Times of India, all nine of the Top 10 publications in the Chennai MC market have witnessed decline in Average Issue Readership (AIR), while in Chennai Rest of UA, seven of the Top 10 publications have witnessed a decline.

It is learnt from sources close to the development that Shantonu Aditya, CEO of Bloomberg-UTV, has put in his papers. The move follows the recent restructuring and the collaboration of Bloomberg and UTVi. No official confirmation from Aditya or any UTV official was available at the time of filing the report.

India disappoints in the Gunn Report 2009
