Reigning on his workaholic impulse as the Executive Vice President at Isobar India, Gopa Kumar might have trouble switching off from work but once he does during weekends, it’s all about Netflix, playing with pets and burying his nose in a thought-provoking non-fiction book. We chatted with him on how he melts away all the work stress and refreshes his creative juices over the weekends.

  • On a typical weekend you will find me...
Catching up on movies, shopping (at times) and binge-watching on Netflix.

  • My idea of relaxing is...
Playing with my pets, Fido and Milo. They are real stress busters and also help me focus on things which are important and to live in the moment. When we got our first dog, I was a tad sceptical on how we would be able to manage them but now they are part of my family and my life. It is difficult to imagine going back home and not finding them waiting for me.
  • One vice I cannot do without...
I don't have any vice which I cannot do without and I hope it stays the same!

  • Speaking of vacations...
Any sort of vacation is enjoyable and welcome these days. I do love travelling whether it is within India or even abroad but I am more of a beach person. One of my most memorable trips has been exploring Europe in all its glory.

  • I confess, I am a...
workaholic. I have trouble switching off and this is something I have been trying to change for quite some time but still am unable to do.

  • Me-time means...
My me time is when I am reading books, primarily non-fiction. I just finished reading Alibaba, the House that Jack Ma Built, which turned out to be an enjoyable read. Music also transports me to my own world and helps me to sometimes step back and plan ahead.

  • The last show I binge watched...
Suits, I am addicted to it and finished it in just a few sittings. Another one is Mad Men. Netflix really is a blessing.
  • 8. I can't what to save my life?
Dance, I have two left feet. Someday I will change this too though!
A skill I want to learn this year...
I want to learn swimming. This has been on my list for years now and I intend to take swimming lessons soon.
  • My next vacation will be...
To Norway, Northern Lights. I want to do this as soon as possible as I have been planning this for so long!
