Industrialist Ratan Tata debuts on Instagram to create something special
The 81-year old businessman who has not been active on social media gained nearly 50,000 likes and 85,000 followers in no time
Announcing his debut, Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons announced on Twitter saying, “I made it to the Gram!"
Sharing his excitement on joining Instagram, Tata’s first post read, “I don’t know about breaking the internet, but I am so excited to join all of you on Instagram! After a long absence from public life, I look forward to exchanging stories and creating something special with such a diverse community!”
In less than a day of his Insta debut, Tata garnered over 284,000 followers. On receiving an overwhelming response from his debut on the photo-sharing site, Ratan Tata looks at engaging better with his followers through pictures from now on.
Post his announcement on Twitter, some users called Tata’s Insta debut as the best Diwali gift.

The other social media platform Ratan Tata has been active on is, Twitter since April 2011, with 7.6 million followers. However, as recently his interaction with followers on the tweeting site remains limited.
