New twist: BCCI wants more out of IPL title sponsorship deal?
Highly placed sources have told e4m that BCCI has refused the 3-year term suggestion and feels they will get more in sponsorship monies in the next season when the Covid-19 threat subsides
For those gung-ho about the IPL 2020 title sponsorship news, here’s a new twist in the plot.
Now it is known that though Dream11 emerged as the highest bidder on the condition that the bid will be valid for three years. However, highly placed sources have told e4m that BCCI has refused the 3 year term suggestion and feels they will get more in sponsorship monies in the next season as covid-19 threat subsides.
Dream 11 on the other hand feels unless it is for a longer time it makes it difficult for them.
Sources also say that there are two options now, first Dream11 agrees to what BCCI says and either increases the money for years two and three or they just agree to a one year deal. Second scenario is they don’t agree in which case BCCI might reject their bid and look for a new sponsor.
It must be noted that BCCI hasn’t yet issued any official statement confirming the title sponsorship to Dream11.
