Last week saw the launch of Swedish furniture giant, IKEA, opening its doors to its 4 lakh sq ft store in Hyderabad. Shoppers who rushed to get a sneak-peek at the store complained about long queues, traffic jams, and parking problems.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited has removed all content from Reliance owned Jio Digital Services, after failing to reach an agreement on pricing. According to media reports, this includes content from thirty-five live television channels and more than two lakh hours of video-on-demand content.
21st Century Fox international ad revenue went up 21 per cent which was led by STAR broadcast of the IPL. The company's annual revenue was at $30.40 billion in 2018, 7 per cent up from prior year.
Last week also saw many appointments. Publicis India appointed Sirish Suveer, former Mullen Lintas, as Vice President. The former Deputy Business Head of Zee TV, Deepak Rajadhyaksha, will be joining Viacom18 to head Colors Marathi and Colors Gujarati. Ram Sewak Sharma has been reappointed as Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), for two more years. Rediffusion appointed Rahul Jauhari and Navonil Chatterjee as Joint Presidents after Group President Dhunji Wadia retired.
Indra Nooyi, CEO of Pepsico will retire from her position in October, after being with the company for 12 years, according to reports.
