Yesteryears actress Zeenat Aman, who has now turned into an influencer of sorts, created quite a flurry among netizens on Wednesday after she made a long post on Instagram about self-worth. She also called out big brands who still expect people at her stature to work for them for 'exposure' or in exchange for a small gift.

The post seemed to have hit the right nerve, as many celebrities with considerable social media clout were also riled up by it. The commentors included actors Archana Puran Singh, Manisha Koirala, Abhya Deol and Bhagyashree Dasani. Even non-celeb women spoke about their experiences where they felt undermined or undervalued, even questioning if someone like Zeenat Aman can be so treated, where do the common women stand. One of the sweetest comments was made by her son Zahaan, who called her cyberpunk mob boss.

In the post, she also spoke of other inconvenient and unpleasant communications from brands who contact her for collaborations. The examples she cited included being addressed by another celebrity's name, brief emails that ask her to "share commercials". However, she said, she was most annoyed by big brands that expect her to endorse them for 'brand association'.

Zeenat also gave a hint about the brand, saying one of their ambassadors reprised a role originally played by the senior actress. This was enough for netizens to decipher she was talking about Priyanka Chopra. She also said how the brand sells it most basic items for lakhs of rupees. Their email even referred to her as an icon but didn't feel compensating her was necessary.

She ended the post like the cyberpunk mob boss, saying, "I am certainly worth more than the price of a designer handbag or high-heel shoe."
