BARC-Nielsen has released the second edition of its Insight Series Crisis Consumption -- An Insight Series into TV, Smartphone & Audiences. The April 2, 2020 data offered a perspective into the impact of the COVID-19 led disruption, which has plagued India since mid-March, on television consumption and smartphone usage.
The report revealed that COVID-19 week 2 has witnessed a highest-ever TV viewing at 1.20 trillion minutes and average daily viewers grew by 62 million. Also, 622 million viewers watch TV daily for 4 hours 40 minutes.
Total TV consumption has increased by 37% at all-India and viewership grew significantly post lockdown on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
