Nikhil Madhok quits Hotstar

Nikhil Madhok, EVP & Head of Original Content, Hotstar, has resigned from his post.

Confirming the news, Madhok said, "Building Hotstar Specials from scratch has been one of the most joyous and satisfying experiences of my professional life. The contribution these shows made to Disney + Hotstar's explosive growth were a source of pride, but the best gift was the love and appreciation received from our viewers. The Emmy Award nomination was not bad either! During this time, I have had the good fortune of working with some incredible colleagues across the organisation and in particular with an extremely talented and passionate content team. I wish them the very best. At the same time, I am extremely excited about the next opportunity that has come my way and eagerly looking forward to sharing details in due course."

Madhok was given the position in July 2018. Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President at Star TV Network. This was Madhok’s second stint with the Star network.
