- Hero MotoCorp Ltd. has appointed Sachin Agrawal as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective May 21, 2026, to oversee R&D transformation at the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology and the Hero Tech Centre Germany.
- Agrawal previously held the position of Executive Vice President & Head of R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles and has over 29 years of experience in automotive R&D and technology leadership.
- His career includes significant contributions to product development, powertrain engineering, electric mobility, and advanced digital technologies, with a focus on innovation and intellectual property.
- Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, emphasized Agrawal's expertise in mobility technologies as crucial for advancing the company's electrification and next-generation mobility solutions.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd. has announced the appointment of Sachin Agrawal as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective 21 May 2026. He will lead the next phase of the company’s R&D transformation across both the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) and the Hero Tech Centre Germany (TCG).
Prior to joining Hero MotoCorp, he served as Executive Vice President & Head – R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles (Joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors). He began his career at Daewoo Motors, contributing to the design of the Matiz chassis system in South Korea.

Sachin has over 29 years of experience in automotive Research & Development (R&D) and technology leadership, with deep expertise spanning product development, powertrain engineering, electric mobility, and advanced digital technologies.
Over the course of his career, Sachin has combined deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, driving end-to-end development across diesel, CNG, electric, and hydrogen platforms. He has also been at the forefront of connected mobility, AI/ML integration, and software-defined vehicle ecosystems, while fostering a strong culture of innovation and intellectual property creation.
Sachin has served as Chairperson of the SIAM Frontier Technology & Innovation Group and led the Volvo Group’s Global Center of Excellence for Medium Duty Engine Development.
