Tejkarran Singh Bajaj is set to join ZEE5 as Business Head marking a return to the platform in a big leadership role as a Business Head ,AI and Innovation where he previously played a pivotal role in building its original content business.
The development comes weeks after Bajaj stepped down as Senior Vice President and Head of Originals at Jio Studios, bringing to an end a seven-and-a-half-year stint during which he led the creative, strategic and commercial direction of the studio's premium originals business.

Bajaj is widely regarded as one of the industry's most experienced content executives, having worked at the intersection of storytelling, audience strategy and business growth for more than two decades. At Jio Studios, he oversaw the development, production, partnerships, licensing and monetisation of a multi-language originals slate, helping establish the studio as a major player in India's streaming ecosystem.
His return to ZEE5 is seen as a strategic move for the platform as competition intensifies across the OTT landscape. Bajaj had earlier served as Head of Original Content at ZEE5, where he was instrumental in shaping the service's early content strategy across multiple languages and commissioning several flagship originals.
Before his stints at Jio Studios and ZEE5, Bajaj worked with Maxus and was part of the team that launched NDTV Metronation. Over the years, he has built a reputation for combining creative vision with commercial execution, making him one of the most influential executives in India's digital content business.
His appointment comes at a time when OTT platforms are sharpening their focus on differentiated storytelling, monetisation and audience engagement, with leadership expected to play a critical role in navigating a rapidly evolving streaming market.
Bajaj is joining ZEE5 at a time when ZEE5 has acquired the rights to FIFA, which should build more traction and viewership on the platform. It also signals that Zee5 is looking to aggressively grow.
Bajaj joins ZEE5 today on 8th June, Monday, is likely to get down to action and hit the ground running and his appointment likely to reenergise ZEE5.
