e4mrecap: The Week That Was
A recap of the most important stories that you may have missed this week
The week from July 17–21 started with a spotlight on influencer marketing—its growing significance as a marketing tool for brands and advertisers—and also its pitfalls lest brands employ it recklessly. In light of the government’s decision to levy 12% GST on LWC paper, magazine publishers seem to have geared up for a "long-drawn" struggle to either revoke the tax rate or bring it down to 5%. The week progressed into Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) deliberating on the election of new office bearers, followed by the appointment of RashiGoel as VP Consumer Communications and ecommerce at Nestle. The week concluded with Facebook’s proposed paywall projectto monetise news stories across digital platforms and what it could translate into for Indian publishers.
