It's that time of the week again when we bring you some of the ads that we loved. This time around, we got a good mix of ads that made us chuckle and those that made us feel sentimental.

In last week's round up of best ads, we featured commercials from brands like Little Hearts, Honest Tea, Crocs and Zupee. In Week 1 of July, the spotlight is on CollegeDekho, McDonald's, Oswaal Books, Reliance General Insurance, Sun Pharma and Timex.

CollegeDekho

L&K Saatchi and Saatchi tells a poignant tale of parental love in a brand film for CollegeDekho. The ad captures the tale of a fastidious father who double-checks every single choice he makes for his son, ensuring that the child always gets the best. So when it comes to selecting the right college, the doting dad enlists CollegeDekho’s help. Set to a moving tune, the ad is heartwarming and memorable.

McDonald’s

Isaac Newton himself can’t compute McDonald’s India’s mindboggling prices in the restaurant chain’s latest campaign. The campaign conceptualised by DDB Mudra Group leverages the intriguing math of 65+49=69 to showcase the exceptional value offered by McSavers+. Even Newton is stunned by the mindboggling math.

Oswaal Books

Jeetu Bhaiyya, the brand ambassador of Oswaal Books, raises the right questions when it comes to quality educational material. The ad channels Jeetu’s popular main character in the latest web series Kota, to highlight the common scholastic problems faced by students today. The advert builds on the publishing company's campaign from last year that reinforces its commitment towards reliability and effectiveness.

Reliance General Insurance

Conceptualised by ^ a t o m network, this ad for Reliance General Insurance gets meta by being self aware. The ad showcases a quirky dinner-time conversation between a saala and a jija, with the former extoling the virtus of the humble aloo as an all-rounder. He draws parallels between the aloo and the Reliance Personal Accident 360 Shield.

Sun Pharma

In Sun Pharma’s campaign dedicated towards doctors, Sushmita Sen who recently suffered a heart attack expressed gratitude towards medicos who gave her a second shot at life. The actor joined compatriots like Manisha Koirala who have faced serious health problems in Sun Pharma’s campaign #SecondBirthDate 2.0. The hard-hitting film by Ogilvy India stops short of being melodramatic despite its theme. Sen fearlessly showcases her vulnerable side, making the ad twice as evocative and memorable.

Timex

In its latest iteration of Time’s “Waste More Time” campaign, brand ambassador Ananya Panday makes a case for creating “me” time. The film dovetails with the brand’s proposition of its watches “telling more than just time.” The ad showcases lighthearted moments and the joy of doing absolutely nothing.
