Jyothy Laboratories assigns media buying to Carat, account size Rs 45 crore

Jyothy Laboratories has finalised its media partners. The corporate major has decided on Carat Media to take care of its media buying requisites. At the same time, it has extended its relation for a second year with Optimum Media Solutions as its strategic media planning partner. Industry sources peg the business in the vicinity of Rs 45 crore.
Jyothy Laboratories, Head, Marketing, K Raghavendra, confirming the development, said, “This will be effective from July 1, 2006.” When asked why it chose Carat as its media buying partner, he said, “We had undertaken a rigorous selection process and this was decided on the basis of that.”
Carat Media’s Group CEO, Charles Jenarius, commented, “We are grateful for the trust reposed in us by Jyothy Laboratories. We have much to offer going into the new world of consumer empowered media.
