STAR and CJ Home Shopping, a leading Korea-based regional home shopping group, have announced a 50:50 joint venture to launch and operate a home shopping network across India. The first stage of the partnership will be the launch of the STAR-CJ home shopping channel, which is slated for the second half of 2009.
Sanjay Behl has been elevated to CEO, Big TV and IPTV. Earlier, Arun Kapoor had held the post of CEO, Big TV, who had put in his papers on November 7, 2008 after a short stint with the company. Prior to this elevation, Behl was Head of Brand and Marketing at Reliance Communications.

The Bombay High Court’s long awaited decision on the BCCI-MSM case came in yesterday, where the BCCI has now been allowed to “officially” discuss IPL telecast rights with any telecast partner. However, the BCCI has left that part of the negotiation completely with Wold Sports Group. Many close to the situation expect the rights to stay with MSM.
IPG’s Mediabrands is set to bring its digital brand, Reprise, to India. IPG’s Lodestar Universal has been working with Interactive Avenues for some time now, but it is understood that the two are in the process of forming a 50:50 JV that would recognise both Reprise and Interactive Avenues brand names.
