The Indian Newspapers Society (INS) has just concluded its annual general meeting. Following the AGM, Deccan Chronicle’s Ram Reddy has been elected the President of the INS. He takes on the reigns from Bombay Samachar’s Hormusji Cama. Vyapar Janmabhoomi’s Kundan Vyas is elected Deputy President of the INS, and India Today Group’s Ashish Bagga has been elected the Vice President. Rakesh Sharma is the Treasurer of the new term of the INS.

Now, on September 24, 2009, the corporate major is repeating the same with Zee Network. In the case of Zee Network, the activity would be seen across its 25 channels.

Taking on from TV Today’s G Krishnan as President, is Global Broadcast News’ Sameer Manchanda, who in the last term was Vice President of NBA. NDTV’s KV Narayan Rao, who was hitherto the Treasurer of NBA, is now Vice President and Zee News’ Barun Das is the new Treasurer.

Telecom major Aircel, which was hitherto working with Starcom Worldwide and Carat as its media agencies, has added Dentsu Media to its media agency roster. It is understood that Dentsu would be handling the TV business for Aircel, while the remainder would be handled by Starcom Worldwide. Aircel did not offer any comments on the development. The account size is pegged at Rs 200 crore.
