Google, as per media reports, is mulling to change its policies on political advertising. It is, however, still to be know if the search engine will completely ban political ads.
Google is known to make some sales revenue through campaign ads.
The issue has been in the news lately due to Twitter’s announcement that it was imposing a ban on all political ads in the run up to the 2020 elections.
Meanwhile Ellen Weintraub, the chair of the US Federal Election Commission, has called on Facebook asking the social media giant to stop the practice of political advertising.
A number of Facebook employees had recently written to Mark Zuckerberg, asking for “changes to how the company handled political ads”.
