After facing a strict ban from the government on the grounds of threats to national security and data privacy, TikTok is back in the news. According to some reports, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has become the latest bidder for the Bytedance-owned TikTok in India.
Reports also indicate that Reliance's acquisition of TikTok is the most likely scenario especially after the Chinese app was banned in June. However, RIL and Bytedance have denied any information on the reported deal.
It must be mentioned that recently Microsoft also said that it is planning to purchase TikTok in the US and other key markets.
