TCL India appoints AMO for Rs 50 crore creative & media business
TCL India Holdings Pvt Ltd., a consumer electronics company, has appointed AMO Communications as its AOR/creative agency for its Rs 50 crore advertising and marketing account. The company is a 100 per cent subsidiary of TCL Corporation, China.
TCL India Holdings Pvt Ltd., a consumer electronics company, has appointed AMO Communications as its AOR/creative agency for its Rs 50 crore advertising and marketing account. In a multi-agency pitch that lasted three months, involving nine agencies and multiple rounds of presentations, TCL finally decided on AMO as their communication partner.
A Gopal Krishna, Senior Vice-President, Marketing & Sales, TCL, said, "We have an aggressive plan to achieve a turnover of Rs 800 crore this year and were looking for a partner who would come up with innovative and unconventional strategies to meet our business objectives in the dynamic and competitive Indian market. We found this potential in AMO and decided to appoint them as our full service agency. We also evaluated their media planning capabilities before appointing them as our AOR."

TCL India Holdings is a 100 per cent subsidiary of TCL Corporation of China. It expects to be a force to reckon with in the Indian consumer electronics market with its competitive and attractive product range. The company claims to have already captured a market share of 3.75 per cent in the colour television category within six months of its India launch. It has set a target of being among the top three consumer durables brands over the next five years.
AMO Communications also handles Godrej Tea, Godrej XS, Godrej & Boyce, Nissan, Infosys and Goa Tourism to name a few of their clients and is part of the Percept IMC Group.
