Metro launches new digital campaign ‘Wear What You Are’ targeting millennials

Targeted towards the contemporary young millennial, the campaign highlights an eclectic fashion with mix and match as the theme. It advocates the idea of wear what you like and how you like it.

Metro’s new digital campaign showcasing  its Autumn-Winter (AW) collection reflects the inimitable styling sensibilities of young modern Indian audiences, who are comfortable in their skin and have a distinctive dressing approach that reflects who they are. Mirroring this sentiment Metro with its wide product range for men and women encourages the consumer to ‘wear what they are’ because no matter what their fashion preferences are, the brand has something that will suit their style.

The campaign has been conceptualised by Makani Creatives. Targeted towards the contemporary young millennial, Metro advocates a simple fashion regime which is to wear what you like and how you like it. In this digital and fast-paced era, men and women today do not like to be bound by set fashion trends. Rather they like to explore and experiment, and wear what they are most comfortable in.



“The young generation is smart and progressive. They like to spend on a few key pieces of footwear and fuse them with various looks rather than buying different pairs for different looks. Metro believes in offering choices that lets the audience remain true to their individuality. Hence the campaign ‘Wear what you are’ highlights the very fact, that style is personal and hence every individual should dress the way they like - even if it means breaking stereotypes,” said Alisha Malik, VP Marketing and Ecommerce, Metro shoes.



Metro is a brand that understands individual fashion needs. The campaign relates to the Indian millennial by portraying them as a generation that believes in fusion. A generation that loves to mix and match and doesn’t mind wearing sneakers below a lehenga and a Kolhapuri chappal under denim. Catching on this, Metro’s latest collection under the campaign ‘Wear What you are’ showcases cool, elegant, funky and ethnic footwear options that allows the youth of today to style them differently and yet remain comfortable and confident.

Commenting on the launch of the campaign Sameer Makani, says, “The campaign conceptualised by Makani Creatives, is targeted towards the contemporary young millennial. In this digital and fast paced era, men and women today do not like to be bound by the regular festive fashion trends. We have therefore created an unconventional campaign for the target audience to better resonate with the brand’s offerings.”

The latest AW collection comprises of a range of sneakers, cool casuals, trendy bling footwear, embroidered jutis for women and fashionable formals, colorful and comfortable Kolhapuris, mojris, sandals, chappals and more for men.

The campaign will be live on social media, OOH, over 1000 theatre screens across India, print and in-stores.
