MIB to meet tech giants, OTT players tomorrow
The ministry wants to discuss broadcast service regulations with the stakeholders
MIB officials will be meeting streaming players like Netflix, Disney and Amazon, and tech giants Google and Meta tomorrow (June 14) for a discussion on broadcast service regulations, media networks have reported.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had proposed a bill to establish a bill for the broadcasting sector, extending its purview to cover OTT and digital news.
Stakeholders have raised concerns over the bill having provisions that could hinder artistic freedom.
