Commenting on the initiative, David O’Brien, Global Innovation Director, Dulux, said, “Our mission of ‘Adding Colour to People’s Lives’ is closely aligned to the vision of ‘Own a Colour’. Through our ‘Let’s Colour’ programme, we have already helped to improve the living environment of many people around the world. ‘Own a Colour’ is one more activity associated with this programme. There are 16.77 million colours and we want to sell as many as possible to transform children’s lives. We hope to receive strong support from people across the world on this and aim to transform the lives of vulnerable children across the world.”
Sir Roger Moore, British actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, supports the Own a Colour initiative. Talking about this, he said, “I am the proud new owner of a shade of blue, which I have named ‘Swedish Blue’. It is the colour of the Swedish flag, the homeland of my very wonderful and very beautiful wife, Kristina, and not far off the cyan blue that represents UNICEF. Both Kristina and UNICEF are extremely close to my heart - they are part of who I am and all that is good and great in this world.”
Pushkar Jain, Marketing Manager, Dulux Paints, AkzoNobel India, sums up, “Own a Colour harnesses the power of colour and your contribution will have a positive impact on saving lives of children. Thousands of people across the world are supporting this initiative.”
