National Geographic Traveller India (NGTI) is gearing up to launch its summer special in March. The summer special will assimilate the best travel stories on adventure travel, camping trips, road trips and other escapes with family and friends, besides carrying a special feature on ‘The best of the world – where to go in 2014’.

The group has initiated a marketing strategy to promote the summer special, which comprises conventional marketing initiatives as well as a special trade push for the key link in a magazine’s saleability – the retailer and the newsstand vendor.

NGTI has also introduced customer engaging promotions such as holiday coupons and vouchers for families. In addition, NGTI will be supported by a widespread in-store visibility campaign across key large format stores, along with online promotions across key portals in India.

Talking about the future plans of NGTI, Manas Mohan, Publishing Director, National Geographic Traveller India and COO, ACK Media said, “After taking over as the leading travel magazine in India, NGTI has had the privilege of teaming up with National Geographic Channel for the very successful programme called ‘Mission Covershot’. Few channel-magazine partnerships can boast of such a powerful combination of the drama of TV and the credibility of a magazine. NGTI will continue to work with the channel and other partners to create powerful stories that ‘inspire, enable and enhance’ travel.”

He further said, “NGTI will now forge a new path in its online initiative with the expressed intention of creating a highly engaged community of followers, readers and contributors – becoming the destination of choice for all travel lovers. In the process, like-minded advertisers will get a unique opportunity to have value-added interactions with this community.”
