Nimbus retains TV rights for 4 more years, but BCCI says it’s subject to getting bank guarantee

Nimbus Communications has reportedly bagged the broadcast rights from the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) for another four years, starting April 2010, for Rs 2,000 crore. However, a BCCI source has stressed, “Unless Nimbus gets a bank guarantee of Rs 2,000 crore, the deal cannot be finalised.”

Nimbus Communications has reportedly bagged the broadcast rights from the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) for another four years, starting April 2010, for Rs 2,000 crore.

Nimbus currently holds the telecast rights from BCCI, which comes to an end in March 2010. While Nimbus officials declined to comment on the development, claiming it to be speculations, a BCCI source said, “Unless Nimbus gets a bank guarantee of Rs 2,000 crore, the deal cannot be finalised.”
