ESPN is on the lookout for a creative partner for the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 tournament. Several leading creative agencies are said to be in the fray for the business. Though the account size could not be ascertained, it is believed to be huge.
The brief given to the agencies taking part in the pitch is to keep consumers’ interest alive in cricket matches, especially soon after the conclusion of the IPL and Twenty20 World Cup tournaments.
The campaign will be a 360 degree initiative involving print, TV, radio, OOH and BTL activities. The pitch is expected to take place next week and the agencies will be fighting to showcase their ideas for the project on ESPN Champions League.
Though no official confirmation was forthcoming at the time of filing the report, industry sources have confirmed that a creative pitch has been called.
The Champions League Twenty20 is an international cricket tournament involving teams from India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and West Indies. The competition was launched in 2008 as a response to the success of the Twenty20 domestic cricket leagues, most notably the Indian Premier League.
