Cannes Lions 2017: Silver Lion for McCann WorldGroup and Bronze Lion for O&M in Product Design
This is the first win for India in the Product Design category in over 5 years
The fourth day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2017 brought McCann Health, New Delhi/ McCann Worldgroup India, Mumbai, a Silver in the Product Design category for ‘Afghan Immunity Charm’ – a campaign created for the Ministry of Public Health, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The campaign has been on a winning streak, bagging metals across multiple categories and even a Grand Prix for Good earlier this week.
The other win in the category was a Bronze Lion for Ogilvy & Mather for the acclaimed ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ campaign. “Product Design is a category where form and function matter. In this case, the innovative functionality of the product where a chalk works like a soap makes Savlon a winner,” said Rajiv Rao, National Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather India.

The entire team at McCann Worldgroup India is extremely delighted,” said Prasoon Joshi, CEO, India and Chairman (Asia Pacific) of McCann Worldgroup, commenting on the highly awarded ‘Afghan Immunity Charm’ campaign.
While India had not managed a single win for more than five years at a stretch in the Product Design category, both the agencies that were shortlisted this time made the cut.
