Foodesto makes shopping online easy for foodies
The e-commerce site has been set up as a fine food solution for the upscale urban household and is currently operational in Mumbai
Keeping in mind the growing demand for gourmet and specialty food items, e-commerce site Fooodesto.com has been set up as a fine food solution for the upscale urban household. Operational in Mumbai, the site has a list of over 1,500 products from more than 130 international and Indian brands.
Foodesto has tie-ups with brands such as Fabindia, Down to Earth, 24 Letter Mantra, Nourish Organics and Conscious Foods.
Tarun Khanna, Co-founder, Foodesto, said, “Foodesto.com takes care of the needs of the time-starved, upscale homemaker who is short on time but is keen to ensure that her family consumes the best. Foodesto provides quality, range and convenience, all at the same place. To make shopping easy and quick, a detailed and specific product categorisation activity has been undertaken for all items listed on the website. We help customers take informed decisions by offering a wide variety under one roof.”
The site also offers cold chain service under which it delivers fresh bread, desserts, condiments, cold cuts, cheese and more to customers’ doorsteps. The products are sourced daily from Mumbai’s popular outlets such as Moshe’s and Santé’s Delicatessen, Bandra West.
Commenting on the cold chain service, Pankaj Chandra, Co-founder, Foodesto, said, “We are very sensitive towards dietary choices and have segregated areas for vegetarian and non-vegetarian deli products. Moreover, our cold chain ensures that no temperature abuse takes place during the delivery and products are cold when received.”
The website also has a section of gluten-free products and other special dietary needs. In a bid to give consumers a complete tech-cuisine experience, Foodesto also offers Kitchen Tools, Dining Aids and Crockery.
Keeping in mind the growing consumption on Internet through smartphones and tablets, Foodesto has developed a mobile site.
While currently the website is being marketed rigorously on social, a number of new brand integrations and product lines are in the pipeline to make the site a one-stop solution. Khanna informed exchange4media that a loyal programme would be initiated to attract users, while a special gift series for Diwali is in the pipeline.
